HOW I WORK
Kristin Wilson, RN, LMT 28265
Hello Eugene and Springfield! I recently relocated from Iowa to Eugene, where my daughter and her family live. I am loving it here and looking forward to growing my business in this magical place.
I have a studio space on W 10th Ave in Eugene, caddy corner from the Library and am open by appointment only, evenings and weekends, at this time. I may be open to mobile.
BASICS:
I don’t chat unless you want to chat. I do ask for input at times.
I specialize in ribs and shoulder complexes.
PRICES:
Can be discounted $10/hr if paying in (green) cash. First time appt requires a 90 min session.
$100/60 min
$130/90 min
$180/120 min
$300/ 180 min
STYLE:
I work primarily on a mat on the floor with the client fully clothed (please wear stretchy or loose clothing like gym wear or leggings/t-shirt) similar to Thai massage, with compressions and sometimes stretching. I find this style to be the most effective in alleviating pain and stiffness, and improving range of motion. If the following descriptions make your eyes cross, see pics at the bottom of the Services page.
I can deliver far more pressure on the mat than on a massage table. Once my table clients try the mat, very few go back to the table. I use my feet under your body weight to get deeply into glutes or around shoulder blades while mobilizing your limbs with leverage for a dynamic physical experience that affects a larger area than just the one I’m pressing on. You won’t just be lying there. I might have you engage muscles for reciprocal inhibition.
It’s very deep work that many clients have found make a profound difference for them. (See testimonials below.) I might lay my knee into your quads for deep sustained pressure or compress your bicep with my foot while standing. I may have you lay on your side, bolstered with pillows, and ‘smash’ your traps (gently of course!) with my foot - that move always gets a thumbs up.
Additionally, I employ Myofascial Release (MFR), Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique (SMRT), Sports Massage, Orthopedics, Gua Sha (scraping) and Cupping. Prices are all inclusive and I use what I think will help the most.
At the start of a session I want to know what’s most important to you, physically and otherwise. I will partner with you and focus on your goals. After we chat, I’ll give you the full 60 or 90 minute (or three hour!) massage you booked. So you might want to come 5 minutes before your appointment time to fill me in so you get the most time possible on the mat.
MY COMMITMENT
I promise to communicate clearly because I truly want to know what you want, what you are experiencing, and if you need me to adjust. I honor your experience and the wisdom of your body. Collaboration, consent, and compassion are cornerstones of my approach to bodywork.
My promise to you is to create a safe and welcoming space for every person, no matter your age, size, ethnicity, or if LGBTQ+, differently abled, neurospiciness, or trauma history.
I commit to treating every person with unconditional positive regard and to do my very best work with every client, every session.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
When I entered massage school I’d had chronic pain in three areas of my body for over a decade. I was resigned to having pain as I thought it was the price we pay for getting older, and physical therapy and meds had provided little relief. Six months into school I was not only pain free, but was more flexible than I’d been as a kid, and I felt like I was aging in reverse! It seemed like a miracle but was simply the result of focused and consistent massage. I want to create a version of that experience for others.
I find the human body and mind to be a fascinating and an endless source for learning.

“I was skeptical about mat massage but I cannot deny the results.” -Kristina F.
“This is what I’ve always wanted…..someone to press this deep into my shoulders and stretch them out.” - Carrie E.
“The pain is 50% less than it’s been for months.” - Kylie A. (Athlete, the day after her first 90 minute session.)
“There is a new world of hip mobility for me! I was looking forward to being very sore. I feel more like the Tin Man after they oiled him! New muscles are sore, ones that couldn’t get used before! I think that massage has made it easier to exercise. My sumo squats are way deeper now! I swear I can even walk faster!” - Roy H.
“I used to have to stop three or four times on the way to the bathroom to lean on something and breathe through the pain in my hip. Now I walk easily and barely get a twinge if anything. And my husband loves you. He says I stopped being grumpy when I started seeing you.” - Linda R.
“Why would anyone ever want to do massage any other way [than on the mat?] I never want a table massage again. That was so deep!” - Carrie E.
“I have hope for the first time in years. The pain at the base of my skull has been debilitating and unrelenting for so long.” - Janelle M.
“The tension and pain in my mid back is gone this morning and I swear I can even breathe better. Amazing!” - Rhonda O. (This was after a two hour session. She had a lung lobe removed a decade ago and has suffered daily with pain from back tension related to the surgery ever since, despite regular massages.)
“There’s no way anyone could get in around my shoulder blades with their hands like you can with your feet. This is the most relaxed I’ve ever been without meds.” Kim D. (After a three hour mat/table combo session.)
“This is similar to deep tissue without it being as painful and it gets all the spots you don’t usually get in traditional massage- side of hips, top of shoulders, deep into the side of the neck.” - Kim E.
“Kristin is such a wonderful massage therapist. She has exceptional intuition to understand what's going on in your body. She communicates just the right amount to assess how you're feeling throughout the massage. Her compassion is evident in the way she massages and is able to tune into your pain to alleviate it. I felt amazing after my massage with Kristin and she really addressed some major pain I was having.” - Bridget Smith, trainer and owner of Muscle For the Journey.
“I really liked that. It was completely different. It’s deeper than the table massages.” - Mathew M.
“I’ve never had my traps worked that thoroughly.” - Jennifer B.
“After my last appt here I went to the chiropractor and she just kept saying ‘WOW! WOW!’ at every move because I was so loose!” - Linda H.
“When I used to walk down a long cement hallway at work my one leg would just hit the floor so hard with my heel striking hard and loud with every step. But now, even two weeks after my last [mat] massage I noticed there is no hard hit on one side anymore. Now they are even!” - Sarah Z.
“That [ mat floor session] was better than chiropractic! Relaxing and rejuvenating.” - Kathy M.
“Kristin did a superb job addressing my individual issues. She is very knowledgeable and used various methods to reduce my pain from an old repetitive work injury that yoga just hasn’t fixed.” - Elaine O., Yoga Instructor
“I highly recommend Kristin. She always begins by identifying your needs and then asks about the pressure throughout the massage. She’s very professional and very personable.” -Claudia M.
